gradient on a sign.
open the photo on photoshop, and make a new layer.
to make a new layer, click here if you don't know how.
you're going to set the layer to screen now.
once you've done that, on the empty layer that's set to screen, use the polygonal tool and trace around the shirt/item.
your photo will now be like this.
make sure the shirt/item is still on selection, and now you're going to make a gradient.
choose 2-3 colors, and then press OK.
put the gradient over the shirt, and it will end up looking like this...
what you're going to do next is use the eraser and take off all the extra gradient that's not on the shirt.
once you've done that, you're going to make the photo black and white by doing this.
congratulations, you made a cool photo with a gradient on something!
